The Visionary

Sherra Byrd, Founder & Executive Director -

Sherra Simpson Byrd is the Founder and Executive Director of Dolls and Diamonds Empowerment Foundation.  For Sherra, being the example is her motivation to make a positive change in the lives of each girl she and the organization reaches.  Her mission, “Developing Dynamic Dolls into Dazzling Diamonds”.  Over the last 10 years Sherra has volunteered with many organizations.  In January 2011, Sherra became the President of the Board of Directors for a local non-profit organization where she worked within the community to feed and clothe underprivileged families, promote higher education and empower the community to rise above stereotypes and strive to BECOME MORE.  During her tenure there, Sherra experienced firsthand how the youth in this community showed an undesirable lack of self-esteem, self-worth, determination and educational values.  Through these revelations, Dolls and Diamonds was born.  It is Sherra’s life’s goal to educate our children early on with the knowledge that was relayed to her late!.  Sherra continues to be a pillar in the community helping various non-profit organizations with fundraising, charity events, and volunteering wherever she is needed.  in addition to helping her community,  she is a wife to an awesome husband and a mother to a beautiful empowered teenage daughter.
